PROFILE
Irene is an execution driven senior level professional with extensive experience in managing various aspects of the acquisition process with various organizations. Skilled in problem solving, team building, contract management and negotiating. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that engage individuals and teams to achieve the goals of the organization.
As Widener’s Technology Procurement Specialist, Irene supports established businesses seeking to access government contracts. In addition, she assists business providing education and information about accessing SBIR and STTR opportunities.
As former Deputy Director of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division Small Business Programs, Irene was the chief advisor to the Commanding Officer on all small business matters. She was responsible for small business acquisition policy and strategic initiatives, and ensured small businesses were provided maximum practicable opportunity to support the Command as prime and subcontractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Irene assists businesses as they try to enter the government marketplace. Combining his experience, knowledge, and energy, she provides high impact, focused, and result-oriented consulting. She advises APEX Phase 1 clients, who need to achieve the prerequisites to work with the government. This includes registering on SAM, developing an SBA DSBS profile, and becoming a certified small/women-owned/disadvantaged business.
