INITIAL SITUATION
For as long as she can remember, Lee Fogel of The Visioning Body has felt that a deep connection with our inner world and visions could inspire positive change. This idea became crucial to her life when she experienced a traumatic injury as a senior in college. She needed the skills of inner listening and conscious movement she had been developing in her art and dance studies more than ever. It became clear to her that creativity and healing were a huge part of not only her personal path, but something that she could offer to the world as well. During her last semester of school, Lee was able to learn somatic movement approaches to neuromuscular release and emotional/energetic processing, and amazingly regained 95% of her range of motion and strength. She knew she needed to share her remarkable learnings with the rest of the world, so she decided to open a well-being and life purpose studio called The Visioning Body.
HOW THE SBDC HELPED

While it wasn’t a certain success, she had the courage to take the nontraditional path towards happiness in her business by following her heart into this field. The ups and downs of finding the time, energy, and money to succeed on a path with no prior roadmap was a mental toll over the years, and she knew she needed support. That is when she connected with our Assistant Director, Kevin Tacchino, via a recommendation from her friend and fellow Widener SBDC consultant, Monica Herrera. Together they organized her many ideas for the next steps in her practice into offerings that felt meaningful, manageable, and in alignment with her business goals. Kevin also assisted Lee in designing marketing and outreach strategies that communicate the unique value she offers as she continues to grow.
SUCCESS
While the lessons were excellent, Lee is especially grateful to Kevin for providing her with the companionship and encouragement to turn her dreams into a reality. Through these one-on-one sessions, she was able to successfully launch Chrysalis, a new community and program for embodied wellbeing and transformation for other creative leaders! To continue her success, she was awarded a $2,000 grant for the Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator Program via the Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. Lee has been delighted with the community that she built, and she feels that her dream continues to grow daily. While this new structure in her life is great, she is most proud of the fact that she can assist her clients in finding the meaning and vision in their lives to meet their goals. The genuine happiness and emotional connection that she feels from her clients makes all her hard work worth it.
